Johan Bloom is an international artist, sharing his time between Makhanda/Grahamstown, South Africa, and Tjörn/Skärhamn, Sweden.
Moving between hemispheres, sourcing his stories in the porous space between here and there.
Johan is a painter that is largely self-taught. Starting with watercolor bird book illustrations in his teens, moving on to human figures, Classic painting onwards to abstracts, sculpture, and contemporary art. Through life working with art, projects, teaching and now introduced to the international art market.

Artbike was a landart project with 15 artists from around Scandinavia. Temporary installations were put up along a cycle path. One installation done by me and two fellow artists became permanent. Cloured steelplate and recycled cycleweels. 75x 5 meters long
